These stencils can be used in a number of ways and with a variety of materials - particularly anything that can be spread or sprinkled over the stencil. They can be used on top of any cake surface that is not too wet, so for buttercream, make sure the surface has a dry skin or is chilled in the refrigerator/freezer and is not tacky or sticky. Other surfaces are rolled fondant, royal icing and gum paste. Stencils can also be used for decoration for petit fours - cookies, cupcakes, chocolates and others confectionery items!
